What exactly can be checked
Whether it works
The check shows whether the proxy answers and whether the address you need is reachable through it. That is the baseline any diagnosis starts from.
Network parameters
The measurements separate the delay between your host and the proxy from the delay between the proxy and the final target. A single speed figure hides that difference.
Connection safety
HTTPS support and signs that the traffic was altered on the way are checked separately. That surfaces problems a single successful response would never reveal.
Identifying the proxy
Geography, proxy type and the traces by which a proxy gives itself away. The verdict comes from what the check actually measured, not from an assumption.

Measure, do not assume
A network tool is useful when it shows what is really happening to the connection. So the ATMLAB checks rest on measured values: where the delay appears, which IP the target sees, whether HTTPS is supported and whether the traffic is altered.
The tools work without an account. The result is something to carry into the rest of your diagnosis, rather than an abstract verdict that it either works or it does not.
